Coronavirus

January 2021

During the ongoing Coronavirus crisis Family Mediation North East continues to maintain levels of service whilst protecting and ensuring the safety of our clients, employees and their families. We are still delivering all appointments remotely, helping families resolve disputes during separation and divorce through video-conferencing.

Our clients have provided great feedback on their experience of video conference meetings, from telling us they feel safer attending from home to finding it easier to fit appointments with their work and childcare schedules.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update you regularly.

During the Coronavirus crisis Family Mediation North East have sought to maintain levels of service whilst protecting and ensuring the safety of our clients, employees and their families. We are delivering all appointments remotely, helping families resolve disputes during separation and divorce through video-conferencing.

Our understanding of the Government’s most recent guidance relating to the lockdown is that we cannot offer face to face appointments again yet.

However, our clients have provided great feedback on their experience of video conference meetings, from telling us they feel safer attending from home to finding it easier to fit appointments with their work and childcare schedules.

We will however monitor the situation closely and update you regularly.

As the situation around Coronavirus has developed, Family Mediation North East is determined to maintain our levels of service whilst protecting and ensuring the safety of our clients, employees and their families. In order to do so, we are adjusting the provision of our service to maintain safety. We are still highly committed to helping families resolve their disputes during separation and divorce.

At present, we are temporarily limiting our face-to-face appointments to our Ashington office. We are offering a range of remote appointments through teleconferencing; these appointments offer you the opportunity to speak with the mediator directly, without the need to travel and without the risk of infection.

Currently, Legal Aid is not available for remote appointments at this time, but we have asked the Legal Aid Agency to review this. We will update you if this changes. If you wish to apply for Legal Aid, we can arrange an appointment in Ashington.

We will continue to take every precautionary measure we can to ensure our offices remain as clean and hygienic as possible. We have reinforced these in line with the latest World Health Organisation guidelines. This includes an increase in the frequency of cleaning all client contact surfaces and we have provided additional sanitisers and disposable wipes. Any member of staff worried they have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is encouraged to stay home in line with the latest guidelines and we encourage all our clients to do the same and stay at home if they feel unwell.

We are closely monitoring the situation to make sure we are taking all precautions to protect our clients and colleagues alike and will keep you updated.

Any questions and queries can be sent to info@familymediation-northeast.com

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone. Many thanks for your cooperation.
